Doing freestyle raps in his days at St. Augustine ‘s College in Cape Coast during entertainment sessions, Axim’s Rapahel Eshun known in showbiz circles as Don Kweli burst onto the music scene in 2015 when he released his maiden recording piece titled “I love this girl” which was featured by Singlet.
Realizing the telepathy between himself and Singlet, Don Kweli immediately followed up with another single titled “Sweet love” featuring Singlet and at a glance, he became very known in the Western Region of Ghana and some other parts of the country.
After gaining local attention and prominence with the aforementioned singles, Don Kweli followed up with a national hit song titled “Kundum Fever” and this time featured Nero X . It was this song which brought fame to the man whose signature is” Film wo nhwenoda” which is translated directly as “you have not “watched the movie before.
He followed up with Xmas fever, Letter to a hustler, Fantse Bin Laden, all in 2015 and composed a song to advise Ghanaian electorates about peace in 2016 ahead of the 2016 general elections titled ‘Yehia Asomdwee’.
In 2016, Don Kweli was signed by Pirates records for an undisclosed fee. The two parties worked for a year and mutually terminated the contract for unknown reasons.
Obiba Bewu, Party tonight and Yehia asomdwee were the song produced under pirates records.
In 2017, Don Kweli started his own record label “Kwelity Music” and released Naayen which became an instant hit and earned him 2 nominations in the RTC Western Music Awards 2018.
Following a brief suspension from music ‘, Don Kweli got himself a wife in May 2018 and later bounced back in October 2018 with another hit which he called “Onyaade”.
Not removing his foot from the pedal after a massive performance of “Onyaade” he released Akasi in February 2019 which topped charts in the region and played on some big platforms across the country.
“Happy Life is his latest release and he featured A list musical act Kofi Kinaata and this song is doing very well by penetrating instantly into musical charts and enjoying unprecedented airplay across the country.
Don Kweli mostly sings and raps in the Nzema and Fante dialects and has been regarded by many industry players as the King of Nzema Music.
He has had open endorsements from Okyeame Kwame, Socrates Sarfo, Sammy Flex of Zylofon Media and Kofi Kinaata.

- The most popular song of the year – Kundum fever.
Consequently, he couldn’t pick up an award on the night.
He was also nominated in two categories in the 2018 edition of the RTC Western Music Awards.
